Frequently Asked Questions

Are devotees attracted to amputees only because of the missing limb(s)?

No. While, the amputation might be the original source of the attraction, the amputation in itself is not enough for someone to be attractive to a devotee. The person needs to be attractive in all the other so-called "normal" aspects of attractiveness, be them physical, moral and emotional. If the amputation would be the only reason why someone would feel himself attracted to someone else who is an amputee then it would be fetishism. Although some devotees report that they would not be partner with someone who is not an amputee, most say that the amputation is desirable but not absolutely necessary. Many are happily married or in a relationship with a partner who is not an amputee. Yet, all things being equal, devotees would prefer to be with someone who is an amputee.
